Genesis 16: 7 - 13

CAN WE RUN AWAY FROM OUR PROBLEMS?
"Now the Angel of the LORD found her by a spring of water in the wilderness… And He said, "Hagar, Sarai's maid, where have you come from, and where are you going?" She said, "I am fleeing from the presence of my mistress Sarai." The Angel of the LORD said to her, "Return to your mistress, and submit yourself under her hand." Then the Angel of the LORD said to her, "I will multiply your descendants exceedingly… and you shall bear a son, you shall call his name Ishmael, because the LORD has heard your affliction… Then she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her, You-Are-the-God-Who-Sees; for she said; "Have I also here seen Him who sees me?"
Hagar was RUNNING AWAY from her mistress and her PROBLEM… The Angel of the LORD gave her this advice: firstly to RETURN and FACE Sarai, the cause of her PROBLEM and secondly to submit to her. Hagar needed to work on her attitude towards Sarai, no matter how justified it may have been… Running away from your problems rarely solve them! It is therefore wise to return to your problems, face them squarely, accept God's PROMISE of HELP, change your ATTITUDE and BEHAVE according to GOD'S WILL…
In studying Genesis 16 we see three people making some serious mistakes: 1) Sarai, who took matters into her own hands and gave her maidservant to Abram… 2) Abram, who went along with the plan but, when circumstances began to go wrong, refused to help solve the problem… 3) and, then Hagar, who ran away from the problem… In spite of this messy situation, Yahweh demonstrated HIS ABILITY to work in all things for good (Rom 8:28) Sarai and Abram still received the son they so desperately wanted, and Yahweh solved Hagar's problem despite Abram's refusal to get involved!
Therefore Saints, REMEMBER, no problem is too complicated for our Father, IF YOU are WILLING to let HIM HELP YOU…
Peace to you all!
